Learn to sew with The Joel Fund in this three-week mini-session!  We will be covering the very basics of a sewing machine, how to thread it, and getting started with sewing.  We will cover sewing basics like building a sewing kit, cutting fabric, and more. Together, we’ll make a scarf, in which we will also learn the basics of cutting fabric with a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat.

The Joel Fund will provide necessary fabric for this class project. The fabric colors will be determined by your color preference answers in your registration form. If you wish to provide your own fabric, fabric must be quilting cotton (be sure to ask the fabric store associate which fabrics are quilting cottons).  You will need THREE (3) coordinating fabrics, all cut to ⅓ of a yard which is 12”, width of fabric.

Please note, this class is for Women Only.

We offer scholarships for those who cannot afford the registration fee. Email the Operation ART Program Manager at isabella@thejoelfund.org to receive the scholarship promo code with your name and email address.
