Flash storytelling refers to stories – real or fictional – that range from one paragraph to a maximum of a couple of pages. Taking a deep dive into how to write flash fiction and nonfiction, we’ll review what type of stories are best suited to this form, steps on how to pare down your stories to its essence, and publication opportunities for your work. Incorporating fun writing exercises and a mindfulness-based approach, this class is for anyone who enjoys writing in any form! Offering a safe, supportive online group environment, the class welcomes veterans, current active duty, and reserve members of the armed forces as well as veteran caregivers and immediate adult military family members.
Class Textbook: Going Short: An Invitation to Flash Fiction (paperback) by Nancy Stohlman.
