Dialogue is much more than characters speaking! Playing a critical function in fiction, non-fiction, plays and screenplays, dialogue moves plot forward, provides background context, helps shape a story’s tone, and most importantly, brings characters to life! Through thought-provoking writing exercises, we’ll explore how to create compelling dialogue and authentic character voices in various literary mediums! Offering a safe, supportive online group environment, the class welcomes veterans, current active duty and reserve members of the armed forces as well as veteran caregivers and immediate adult military family members. Participants must have taken a previous TJF writing class or have permission from the instructor.
The class will be working with the book "Writing Dialogue" by Tom Chiarella.
This class is for students who have taken a previous TJF writing class or have permission from the instructor. If you have not taken a virtual writing class with TJF previously, please contact Operation ART Program Manager Isabella Brezenski at isabella@thejoelfund.org
